One single drop,

Have you been able to have a look or take some photographs of the electrical equipment where the incident took place?

In the second video it can be seen that the circuit breakers are operating as they should. The current is being restored automatically after a short duration. Whatever is causing the phenomenon is affecting different sections of the grid system as bright flashing, probably due to high voltage arcing can be observed at different locations.

Could this effect be down to an external electromagnetic influence or a general overload on the system? The Fort Worth video shows that it could possibly be the former, possibly a form of induced electromagnetic influence. Comments made by people who live in the area have reported that flashing was seen on the ordinary poles and where no transformers were installed.

Whatever caused the phenomenon is not being reported by the power company or any scientific institution which I find quite strange.

On the second video it is well visible that electric pressure was gone at the whole quarter

На втором видео хорошо видно,что электрическое напряжение пропало у целого квартала

I have read some of the comments associated with this video and the more knowledgeable replies seem to favor some form of plasma association. Mention has also been made with reference to the two anomalous silver objects (orbs?) seen above the area in question.

What we really need to see are some images of any damage to possible downed power lines, high and medium voltage transformer installations in an effort to assess probable causes. When a transformer developes a fault it usually makes an almighty bang and may be followed by a degree of smoke as most of these type of devices are oil cooled. Faults and surges that develop on the high and medium voltage grid system are usually protected by very efficient circuit breakers.

Notice that other areas seem to be unaffected by the problems where the very bright flashes are emanating from. This suggests that whatever is affecting the electricity system is restricted to a particular localized area.

OSD, is it possible to obtain some images of where this event took place?

Very interesting video and...... a very interesting phenomenom.

What can be seen in the footage raises many questions. The main question is that if there was a power surge why did the circuit breakers not come into play? There is no evidence of direct cloud to ground lightning in the footage? Therefore, what was affecting the electricity grid was due to some other cause. Also, notice how the two objects above the surface reflect the light rays. This suggest they are constructed of a metallic material.

There is only one other possibility that could cause this type of localized effect on an electricity grid and that would be a form of highly directional and very high-powered electromagnetic radiation effect that has been reflected off of the ionosphere. Is there such an installation that could produce such powerful electromagnetic radiation? The answer to the question is in the affirmative. What better way to test out a theory using the guise of a violent thunderstorm as camouflage!

I may be completely incorrect in my thinking, but nevertheless, it is an interesting hypothesis.

It may be worth starting a thread at abovetopsecret.com as they are really into strange things and are very, very good at finding out what is going on. The Japan nuclear reactor thread is nearly 1000 pages long now, and they always get the truth out before it is announced. There are many people who are experts in various disciplines which helps. We can only speculate here since we are not experts but there are some people there who were probably involved. Worth a try anyway.

Thread here I am certain that your video would really help narrow down the results so that it could be solved.

Thank you, normally there is an automatic switching off, to avoid chain reactions and to minimize destruction. I would love to see ground images of the area and images of these supposedly destroyed transformators.

Should n`t the press been interested to dig a little bit  deeper into this spectacular event ?

On transformer substations exist automatic system of switching-off from repressure and short circuits. Therefore on one substation relapse of short circuits is excluded. Here we see repeated relapse of short circuits. Still there are no blinkings and switching-off at consumers of electric energy which are characteristic in similar situations. Too suspiciously stable work of street illumination

I have a hard time believing these were just exploding transformers because of a lightening strike for many reasons. My skeptical brain has a problem with some things.
1. There is absolutely no lightening present during this video.
2. The "exploding transformers" seem to be repeatedly exploding over and over. I've never heard of a case where the same transformers exploded continuously. You can see the same areas lighting up again and again.
3. No sound of the "exploding transformers" can be heard. The audio is obviously on, on the camera because you can hear the cameraman move around a couple of times. If anybody has ever heard a transformer explode you know it is Extremely loud and can be heard from a very far distance and from indoors with all the windows and doors shut.
4. I have a hard time believing that these repeatedly exploding transformers could like up the sky in almost every color of the rainbow. Red, blue, violet, amber and green lights can be seen. Furthermore these "explosions" are not what I would consider typical transformer explosions in the sense that they last longer than what would be expected. When a transformers blows out it is very quick and it sounds like a cannon going off and then it's over. Unless a fire is started on the ground or on nearby trees from the sparks it's otherwise pretty uneventful. This did not appear to be the case here. This video was very strange. I've showed two people this video and both of them did not believe that this was exploding transformers.
4. This may be nothing but conventional aircraft but I also noticed lights in the sky at the beginning of the video and at 1:54 - 2:10. There was something a little odd about that too, they seemed to appear and disappear very suddenly. It may have just been an optical phenomenon but it's a observation worth noting I think.
I don't know exactly what this was but I believe it should be investigated. It's Very strange. The only way I could explain it away would be to say that the cameraman was involved with a group of people who set this up to perform some kind of light show. Either that or it was something much more strange or possibly paranormal. But the explanation given that this bizarre, multi-colored light show is a chain reaction of exploding transformers because of a lightening strike doesn't seem plausible.

I agree with your reasons for not believing the lights are from exploding transformers. I work with someone who described that morning what happened from her vantage point from the apartments she lives in there. There was a green light above her and it moved pasted her, and she did not comment on any loud sounds, which would be something she would have said, so this is very strange, I saw the orbs in the video. Seems like there would have been a smell of something burned too if it were explosions, doesn't sound right to me either.

If anyone, even everyone, were to look at existing videos of transformers exploding, in your plain sight you will know these are not exploding transformers. Doesn't Homeland Security want the people of our Nation to have intelligence? Why have we been told an obvious lie to anyone who will actually look for themselves? Another other obvious missing factor is the smoke from the transformers exploding - there is no smoke!

Bogey, thanks for your astute observations and the courage to present them the way you have :)

Something in the Sky or reflections on the lens ?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYCHBI66izs&feature=player_embedded

0. 11 - 0.16 right side ( from the middle)

changing position to left side

0.17 - 0.20

0.20 a second one appears

0.21 second one disappears

0.23 first one disappears

0.24 reappears in a slightly different position

0.25 second one reappears on the right side of first one

0.25 in the same second the second one jumps from right side to the left side

0. 26 both disappear

 BrianLuenser  11.05.2011

This is the aftermath of a pretty brutal thunderstorm in Fort Worth Texas on May 10, 2011. It was taken from my balcony on the 34th floor of a building in Fort Worth. Though I thought we were at war or was terrorism, it was a massive series of downed 7,200 volt power lines. As I took it with my 70-200 2.8L IS lens, it is farther away than it looks. (it is 5 miles away) That is why there are not explosion sounds. This was a very well documented event. I was on my balcony to take lightning pictures (Yes, not smart) and this started happening in front of me. I turned my camera (Canon 5d MkII) to video mode and let it roll.

I did just realize this evening that the video is doubled. (others pointed it out in their comments) One video is duplicated. It happened when I was reducing the file size. I would up with the video duplicated. I would like to fix it. (remove the second half) but don't think I can. I would have to delete and and post another. If somebody knows how I can edit the video (cut out the second half) please let me know. Anyway, I have way more than enough footage still unposted. I will start posting my other videos.

I have been reading the comments. I would like to answer some questions.
It is not fake. It is not doctored. (you are giving my video skills too much credit, thanks.) As you can see by all the other lights, it is not taken with an IR setup or something. It is simple a video of an expensive weather disaster. The explosions are along a 4 mile path. They look closer together because this was 5 miles away zoomed in. (News links inserted below)

If this was fake, I would have put in some good explosion sounds, not birds. (I probably could handle that technically.) This IS NOT FAKE IN ANY MANNER.

It is not a function of lens flair, though I do believe the rain made the illumination more visible than it would have been. What this video does not show well is that the clouds above were illuminated with it all.

I am prepared to have a lab analyze this video for authenticity. Believe me. What you are looking at is a video camera set up on my tripod on my balcony. Period. No colors added, not special effects, no sounds. I do not even know how to adjust a video for brightness or contrast. (I am a photo guy, not a video guy.)
Anybody doubting the facts only needs to check the news sources or the power company. (Encore Electric) for verification. Luckily, hundreds of people watched it all. I have video of lots of emergency vehicle arriving to deal with the resultant fires.
Also, this is actually just 1 of 5 videos taken. I will post the others when I get time. I am not sure this is even the best video I have. Too easy to verify it all.

For all of you that complimented my video, and believe it is what is seems to be, thank you. NOT FAKE. 100% Real. Stand by for my other videos. I am not saying doubters do not have a right to doubt. Just that they are wrong. (by claiming fake really reaffirms how amazing the sight was.)

BTW, I did get my wife to reduce the file size of my video radically before I could squeeze it on to YOUTUBE without an error. (on her Mac i-video) My camera takes multi gig clips. It can only take videos for 4 minutes at a time before it overheats. (See Canon web site.)

Somebody said, "Why no reflection on the skyscraper in view?" Just the wrong angle. In one on my videos there is a reflection in the building from one of this blasts that was further to the left.

"....Star-Telegram columnist Bob Ray Sanders said that whatever it was, it was dramatic.

"I've seen lightning strike, and this was no lightning," he said. "It may have been precipitated by lightning strikes."

Sanders said he was at his home, which backs up to Randol Mill Road, when he saw "blazes up in the air."

"I saw fire in the sky and on the ground," he said. "I saw 10 or 12 explosions. It was like someone was dropping bombs."

After his power went out, he got in his car to investigate and found that street and signal lights were not working.

There were two fires west of the Riverbend Estates, north of I-30 and west of Loop 820, he said.

Anselma Knabe, who lives near Randol Mill and Oakland, said she heard some kind of explosion about 9 p.m.

When she looked outside, "sparks were showering everywhere," she said. "I thought the house was going to catch fire. Luckily, we have a metal roof."

The police scanner was noisy with chatter as officers called for assistance.

"I need someone from Oncor out here for a transformer on fire," one officer said.

A dispatcher said they were swamped with similar calls and said, "I'll add you to the list."

Fort Worth firefighters responded to several calls involving transformers and electrical problems Tuesday night, Fort Worth Fire Department spokesman Tim Hardeman said.

There were several calls about a possible lightning strike at a transformer substation at 4800 Randol Mill Road just after 9 p.m. after repeated sightings of flashes and explosions, Hardeman said.

There was also a report of a transformer on fire at the Five Star Custom Foods storage facility at 3709 East 1st Street at about 10:04 p.m., Hardeman said. ..."
