Thanks for those words of wisdom.

I'm happy to take it on board. Sometimes I find that when there are blocks in the image there is very tiny details inside them, but yes I understand what you mean.

So on a lighter note and being in the freedom of expression corner, here is evidence that Curiosity stops for a cup of tea between digging and taking photos.

I left all the info so you can see where I got it. Here it is without any alterations and also with a little sharpening.

I have no doubt that there are little people on Mars, and all kinds of other sizes too.

The problem is that we need to show anomalies in a way that others (particularly scientists) can see what we are talking about. That requires a link to the original (always), and if we have enlarged or done any other processing, then it is better, not essential, to say what we have done. Often our processing is bespoke and for myself, I often write a program to tinker with an image to make something clearer, but others will have specific recipes of actions performed in Photoshop or their favourite editor. Others will just see how it looks.

The point is, that we should NEVER use pixel-smoothing because it introduces more artifacts into the image which we are unaware of. When pixel-smoothing is turned off, it also allows us to see the pixels and compression blocks exactly what scientists would see when they enlarge a picture. The result of that is that when we get to a point when the pixels or compression blocks start to show, then we have enlarged TOO much and we need to find another image if we can, or reduce the enlargement. If this cannot be done, then we just have to fight our frustrations and put the image away for another time when a better image is released by NASA/ESA/etc

In all our childhoods we were told stories about little people, one person, now aged about 25, who lives near me saw one in the woods near here (and refuses to ever go into the woods again)

Anyway, I have found things I'm much more serious about on Mars but goggogs picture here of something creeping out struck me as something diving in between the creeping out things

So I fished out these I found before of "somethings" that are probably my vivid imagination so I thought I'd better move them here. But they might be tiny people, why not? after all we have come in different sizes on Earth

They are unshaped , faded and enlarged from 0365MR1482006000E1_DXXX and 0456ML1838008000E1_DXXX
