LavaRock.jpg

lava of this type is very resilient when it will be and when it starts to cool loosens it up with gas blow exterior it forms a particle and a combination of cheese and sponge texture with very sharp edges that do not looks like a organic form which was involved in this case as sponge.

To see some examples of computer-generated 'rock texture simulation' would be interesting to view. Can you post some examples?

At second glance...

Guess 1)
it reminds me of a type of moss that grows all around here on everything, specially rocks.

Guess 2)
It looks like a type of volcanic rock that is really porous

I am no geologist, so it is difficult to make any kind of educated guess. I can only relate to my own life experience...which points to moss or a porous type of rock

Locations where these type of 'spongey' rocks appear makes for interesting research. I have 'cleaned' the original image slightly to remove the clutter that obscures the detail and have applied a simple process that is not detrimental to the image content.

You may think that you are 'seeing things', but I can assure that you're not. The features seen in the images are definitely real.

Have a look at the images and use your own judgment to determine what can be observed.

indeed the hook shape it's strange.
but not quite strong to exclude a possible case of the nature.
from the other side, we can't exclude its possible aritificial origin, but unluckly the image quality isn't the best and the object is far, we can't say more that this is a "stange hooked rock "

from a preliminar watch i can say only that i see a strange rock : ti seems to have an hooked appendix to the left.
as of now i didn't noticed more.
the hooked appendix is quite singular but i've seen on the earth stranger rock-shapes so personally i don't think here we have anomalies.
will post a couple of zooms.

Mara, is that you ? I have worked the image as best I can and I can see three anomalies that were listed on Skippers site, a humanoid mask in the rock to the bottem left of the area you highlighted and what looks like a humanoid figure carrying something to the left of the rock you highlighted. There seems to be something hanging over the rock you highlighted, I can make out symmetry and what looks like orbs and this anomaly is casting a shadow on the rock.
Papa, can you use your eyes to see if you can distinguish more ? I am going to take a look at other images from the day to see if there are clearer images.

Hi,
Here is another Spirit Pan Cam. Sol 895.
To me the object pointed out by the red arrows resembles a large insect... like a beetle...
What does everyone here think?
Thanks,
ARP2 wink
