Test your image processing with this testcard

In addition to my 'testcard' on this forum, I have another couple of test images I have created.

The first one is an image 256 x 50 pixels and consists of a strip with a black background. On this strip are various shapes and letters but they are invisible due to being close in colour to the background. There is also a white strip with the same kind of symbols and shapes and letters. Again, these are mostly invisible due to the closeness of the colours with the background. link to download .png It is the kind of image we have to play about with in order to see any anomalies which are hidden in the shadows or bright lights of an image.

The second thumbnail is the first one but showing what is there. link to download .png

The third one is 512 x 512 pixels and consists of a slowly changing colour ramp. Each colour is supposed to be within 5% either up or down from the next one and this is typically what are in the shadows in images. link to download .png

The fourth one is a similar 512 x 512 pixel image but is a gradient from 0 -> 255 -> 0 black -> white -> black again link to download .png This can be useful to develop ways of highlighting or uplifting a segment of greyscale colours (eg: from greyscale 0 - 50) If you run that on this image it will show whether you have achieved the result.

This example shows such a program or recipe run on the fourth image and it chops out various sections of the greyscale in the image and uplifts them so you can see into the shadows in those parts. It is easier to see this on an actual image, but the test image will show if it is working or not.

Send me a message if you need any help with using these.

I have tried to make it as close to the MER images without actually using an example. Let me know if there is something else I can put on it.

It is 26K and 512x512 pixels

The original png is here as I dont know what the forum software does when showing an image.
