Alien Anomalies

I have been looking at this pic for a couple of years and had posted it in another forum but dont think I had ever posted it here. The mail attraction to this pic was the heat shield of the Spirit rover that had been mistaken for something else. What I found has nothing to do with that, but is very curious if it is what I think it is.

This panorama also has the T-rex carving in the foreground.

The outcrop of rock or soil in the foreground center has something strange at the end of it.

It almost looks like some type of animal with a message or something hanging from its mouth.

Looking closer the object hanging there does not appear to be in the background

It is square except for the end which appears to be tattered or deteriorating and has some type of symbols on it.

If this is a natural creation then the physics on Mars must be very different than the physics on Earth.
