qmantoo, Thanks for your comments. Yes, you are correct, there are other images of this area and you're right about the image quality.

The Apollo images give us a greater degree of perspective, whereas the LROC images do not as they are mostly top-down views.

I found this particular image interesting after I sharpened it to improve the edge definition and increased the colour saturation.

I use a 50mm magnifier to examine the detail as this size of glass concentrates one's attention on the area being examined.

I'll bite.

If you enter the crater name into the search box, there must be 40+ links to apollo images of Firsov. There must be some better images and closer perspectives which would give us some different viewpoints. 4286 for example gives a larger view of the crater and definitely has some interesting features.  Q

On edit:No, I am sorry. I have decided not to annoy and frustrate myself any further wiith these images. The quality is just too terrible to bother with.

If you would like to see some things that appear to be just out of this world, take a strong 50cm magnifier and observe what is showing on the surface in this view.

Do not zoom in as this degrades the resolution. The colour saturation was increased deliberately to allow for analysis of the colour differences between objects.

If anyone is having difficulty in recognizing the structured shapes, this image shows some examples.

I have increased the colour saturation slightly to highlight any colour differences.

The diameter of the main Firsov crater is given as being 51km.

Your attention is drawn to the light-coloured area within the yellow ellipse.

I have estimated that this area of interest is 3.88km wide, but can this dimension be correct?

There are also many other interesting objects and other features showing that I have highlighted.

A degree of zooming in may be required for better observation of the objects.

From what can be seen in this particular view gives me the impression that whoever is on the moon has been very busy.

The number of structural-like shapes are just too many to number as there has to be thousands showing in the view.

The second image is a close up view of the light-coloured area shown within the yellow ellipse.

There are many other recognizable objects showing up in the close up view.

It would appear that the structural objects are not aligned to any grid or pattern as we see on this planet.

Could it possibly be that the design and random layout of these structural objects is intentional?

The first image shows the surface objects and features followed by a very close up view.

This view is of the left upper area as seen in the main image above.

I have highlighted some of the many structural shapes. If what we are seeing is correct and I think it is, Armstrong was absolutely right in saying that there would be no chance of man building a base on the moon. Judging from the object detail seen in this view it would appear that the moon is overloaded with built structures and this is just one small area.

Note the object detail showing within the crater and on the rim. I get the impression that what we are seeing is a large city. What do you think?

This view has perspective and is not bad at all for a forty-year-old analogue film capture.

The image above is showing up a host of recognizable object detail that suggests there may well be a civilization living on the moon.

Here is a close view of the lower left section of the above view in colour and grayscale.

I have added this colour image as it is of the same location. It is a sectional view from the high-definition 23087 image.

Many of the objects seen in the above monochrome view can also be spotted in this image.

There's a host of other interesting object detail as well.

This image is an enlarged version of the view that can be seen above. I have adjusted the contrast and brightness slightly to allow for better recognition of the surface objects. In the second image I have highlighted some of the more prominent objects that can only be built structures. Note the object detail on the rim of the upper crater and also what is contained inside the crater. The whole area is crowded with structural object detail. The impression I get is that there is a complete lack of infrastructure planning but whoever built these complex structures did so to an intelligent design. I just cannot believe what can be seen in the view was constructed in a vacuum. There has to be an atmosphere of some description. If you wish to get slightly closer perspective the use of an optical magnifier is advised. It is best to avoid using digital zoom. Two images are shown for comparison purposes.

Some time ago I did some work on one of the Apollo 17 analogue film70mm captures and only returned to it whilst looking for another image.

Three images are shown with the first being the general area around Firsov crater. I have included a rectangle highlighting the area of interest.

In the second image I have made some adjustments to contrast and brightness and the third image is the enhanced view.

What is showing up in the enhanced view is bordering on the unbelievable. Zoom in, there is a host of object detail to observe.

Try observing the detail with an optical magnifier if you do not have a zoom facility on your browser.

The following address takes you to the Apollo image catalogue.
