Thanks qmantoo for the heads up. Needless to say I am finding some amazing close up images (see an example below) of Cabeus among the many hundreds taken before and after the bombing event.

However

I just don't know what to believe anymore. Its very frustrating, why did they take so many images of absolute shadow. I mean image after image opens up with shadow in the key areas / co-ordinates.

I wanted this to be an investigation to prove or disprove the anomaly but it seems to be either heavily censured or there really is no images of the actual impact crater. Not at 0.5 ppm anyway.

Please be assured I will post any anomalous finds. In this particular image I found only a very small pipe like structure which appears to come out of the shadow and is not the rim of a crater in itself.

I did a search in the Lunar Orbiter images and there are 3 crappy pics of this crater. However, I suppose you never know, it may show something interesting, I suspect I can see some structures around the crater walls but the definition is so bad in those old pictures.... Most of it is in shadow though.

If you need the annotated version with the crater names, then click the links in the first link1.

So here we go......I think I'm gonna need more computing power than mining for bitcoin!!!

Lets hope there's something worth finding especially something square!!

Now I have a more accurate location for the anomaly I have re-interrogated the LROC and this is what I get................... There are no less than 1187 overlapping images for this location.

That just beggars belief for a crater seemingly in eternal shadow at the South Pole!!!  Is anybody there?

So before pulling up 100's of NASA images I've first made a comparison between the location of the square anomaly and the LCROSS impact site. In order to do this I have turned and stretched the NASA desk picture so it correlates roughly with available images of the Cabeus Crater.

Maybe it comes as no surprise to observers that the 'bombing' does indeed appear to be virtually dead centre of the square anomaly. Of course it begs the question whether the square has merely been drawn onto the NASA employees 'desk' picture to indicate the location for the bomb run. Notwithstanding this I will still continue to investigate the site on the LROC quick map to try and ascertain whether any square looking anomaly actually exists.

Observations most welcome.

Observers may remember the excitement generated in 2009 by the moon explosion and the picture that came out at the time showing a so called moon base on the desk of the NASA employee? The main LCROSS objective was to explore the presence of water ice in a permanently shadowed crater near the south polar region so NASA sent a 2 ton kinetic payload into Cabeus crater.

Having gone into the LROC Quick map to have a look at this crater I was amazed at the number of images overlapping this crater. If the crater was in permanent darkness as reported why so many images?? It certainly attracts my interest but I think I have my work cut out sifting through 170+ photos. All I can say is 'Watch this 'space!!'

3. The LROC Quick map mapping of Cabeus Crater. Why so many overlapping images of a crater in permanent darkness??
